Trace is passionate about helping students reach their academic goals, and also enjoys creative writing and biking.
Trace volunteers at UCI as a Bike Ambassador and a member of the First Gen Staff Initiative.

Yvette Callender

Yvette was a first-gen graduate from UCI in 1992 with a degree in English & Comparative Literature.
Yvette has many passions – baking bread and cooking, victory gardens, camping/ outdoors, sewing, and pretty much anything artsy.
Yvette volunteers by sharing the gift of yoga to campus staff for more than 20 years. She also serves as a Health Ambassador and Campus Search & Rescue Team.

Tanaz was a transfer student and has a degree in English. She also has a Teaching Credential and taught high school English before coming to UCI.
Tanaz is passionate about inspiring and mentoring students. She enjoys movies, cooking vegan food and hanging out with her SO and 3 cats.
Tanaz volunteers at UCI as a Working Well & Wellness Ambassador.

Mario is a recent first-gen graduate of UCI ( c/o 2017’ ZOT ZOT!) with a degree in Neurobiology! He is currently preparing to apply to medical school!
Mario is passionate about education and helping students develop new techniques for learning. He likes to dive into science articles, art, fashion, and electronic music!

Will recently graduated from UCI in 2019 with a degree in Neurobiology.
Through LARC, he discovered his passion for learning and education. He is currently studying to become a nursing educator.
Will’s wants to make a positive impact on future patients and the medical field by educating future nurses.
Will also likes to spend time with his puppy, play piano, and video games.

Cristina is a 5th year Spanish major, a bilingual education minor and is part of the Dream Center community. She wants students to feel comfortable and supported at UCI .
She enjoys running, hiking, weight lifting and journaling. Cristina also enjoys nature, the beautiful views, sunrises and sunsets.

Cynthia is a 4th year Economics major. As a first gen student, she understands the difficulties in navigating and accessing on-campus resources meant to support students.
In her spare time, she enjoys journaling, playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, and practicing the art of Tarot.
Cynthia is also a Peer Educator at Student Success Initiatives (SSI) for the 2020-2021 academic year
